At the home we pride ourselves on providing person-centred care and support. All residents have their own room, many with ensuite facilities and there are communal living rooms, dining rooms and gardens. We also provide a varied programme of activities and events, helping our residents to be as involved as they wish. What is St Edmunds like?
St Edmunds is a welcoming residential care home close to the centre of Attleborough. We support people to feel at home and get to know each resident as an individual, including their routines, interests and the things that are important to them. There are several communal areas around the home, as well as an outdoor space, so residents can spend time with others or have some quiet time when they want it.
What care do you provide?
We provide residential care, dementia care, respite care and end-of-life care. We take time to get to know each person and make sure their care fits around their needs, routines and preferences. Families are also encouraged to stay involved and be part of their loved one’s care.
Do you support people living with dementia?
Yes. We support people living with dementia and take time to understand each person and what matters to them. We take the time to learn about their routines, the things they enjoy and what’s important to them, and provide support that helps them feel comfortable and settled day-to-day.
Can I come to St Edmunds for a short stay?
Yes. We offer respite care for people who need some extra support for a while, are recovering from an illness, or when a family carer needs a break. A short stay can also give someone the chance to spend some time at St Edmunds and see what life here is like.
What are the rooms and facilities like?
St Edmunds has 33 bedrooms, including four with en-suite facilities. Rooms come with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, small television, sink and toiletries cupboard. There are five lounge and communal areas across two floors, as well as an outdoor space. The home has lift access and handrails throughout to make getting around easier.
What are the meals like at St Edmunds?
Meals are prepared at St Edmunds, and we can cater for different dietary needs. We also support IDDSI levels for people who need softer or modified food and drinks. We make sure meals are suitable for each person and take their needs into account.
What do residents do during the day?
There are regular activities at St Edmunds, led by the wellbeing team. Residents can join in with activities they enjoy, spend time with others or simply have a quieter day if that’s what they prefer. There are also occasional trips and outings when possible, as well as onsite amenities to enjoy.
Can family and friends visit?
Yes. Family and friends are encouraged to visit during the day, ideally between 8am and 7pm and outside mealtimes. There is visitor parking at the rear of the home. St Edmunds is also close to Attleborough town centre, with shops, the church and public transport just a short walk away.
